Web video search site Blinkx signs Microsoft pact

Blinkx will announce potentially one of its biggest deals to date, with
Microsoft Corp., which has agreed to use Blinkx technology to power the

Ping Google When You Blog

Oh no Google supports XML-RPC!

Google has announced it’s opened a ping server for bloggers to ping them directly when you create a new blog entry using the XML-RPC protocol. In order to ping Google directly you simply need to add the following link to your blog software: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2

What happens is the blog software alerts the Google server via the HTTP POST method that there is a new entry to index which is why creating a new blog entry is sometimes called creating a post. Most people will think this is good news unless of course you are Technorati, Pingomatic etc.

Zoho Signs On Easy

Zoho Adds Single Sign On Across Online Suite

Zoho has released a single sign on for six of their core services – Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, Zoho Show, Zoho Planner, Zoho Creator and Zoho Chat. There are some issues with sorting out unique user names, though. Details on the Zoho blog.

This isn’t a particularly exciting update, but it goes a long way towards making the Zoho Suite more usable.

Digging Mails

FWDitOn’s Digg Model for Emails

FWDitOn is a site that allows users to submit and rate emails that they find interesting, and higher rated emails go to the top of the popular area. The idea is to allow people to see the most popular fowarded jokes and other emails, and there are some good ones on the site. An email can be added to FWDitOn by simply forwarding it to submit@fwditon.com – and you do not need to be a registered user to do so.
